ALY Terms of Service

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of ALY, including the ALY mobile app, website, and related services. By creating an account, accessing ALY, or using any ALY feature, you agree to these Terms.

If you download ALY through Apple’s App Store, the iOS application itself is also licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Read Apple’s Standard EULA .

2. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least 13 years old to use ALY. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.

3. What ALY Provides

ALY is a self-awareness and journaling service that may include mood check-ins, reflections, reminders, voice journaling, progress tracking, and AI-assisted insights.

Some features rely on third-party processing to generate content such as reflections, summaries, reframes, and transcripts.

4. Wellness Disclaimer

ALY is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or crisis care.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or may be in danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis hotline immediately. ALY is designed for personal reflection and wellness support only.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Some ALY features may be offered through auto-renewable subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or other platform billing providers.

Payment is charged through your platform account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your platform account settings.
Subscription pricing, renewal timing, and billing details are controlled by the platform billing provider at the time of purchase.

6. Referral Program

ALY may offer referral promotions that grant promotional access when new users complete the referral steps described in the app or offer materials.

Current referral thresholds are 5 successful referrals for 1 free month and 10 successful referrals for 3 free months.
A successful referral requires a new user attributed to your referral method to download ALY, create an account, and complete onboarding. A purchase is not required.
Referral rewards are promotional, non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and may be applied after we verify eligibility.
Self-referrals, duplicate or fake accounts, misleading promotion, unsolicited commercial messages, or other abuse may cause a referral to be disqualified and a reward to be withheld or reversed.
If you promote ALY publicly in connection with the referral program, you must clearly disclose that you may receive a promotional benefit.
We may update, suspend, or end referral offers prospectively.

7. User Content and Acceptable Use

You are responsible for content you submit to ALY, including journal entries, check-ins, recordings, and responses. You agree not to use ALY to break the law, infringe rights, or interfere with the service.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant ALY permission to host, store, transmit, transcribe, analyze, and otherwise process that content only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide the service to you in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Privacy and Third-Party Processing

Your use of ALY is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and which processors help us provide the service. By using ALY, you acknowledge that data may be processed by trusted providers such as Supabase, OpenAI, PostHog, Sentry, RevenueCat, and app-store billing platforms as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Account Deletion and Service Changes

You can request account deletion in-app through Profile → Delete Account or by contacting privacy@alyself.com. Deletion handling and retention details are described in our Privacy Policy.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of ALY to maintain security, performance, or legal compliance.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

ALY is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of ALY.

11. Updates and Contact

We may update these Terms as ALY evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
